1. Data Collection
QuickGPT does not collect or store any personal data. All settings, preferences (such as your OpenAI API key, selected model, theme, and context menu options), and session data are stored locally using Chrome's storage.local
API and are never transmitted to external servers.
2. OpenAI API
We use your OpenAI API key to communicate securely with OpenAI servers via HTTPS. This key is stored only on your device and never shared, transmitted, or logged by QuickGPT.
3. Permissions
- contextMenus: Used to provide custom right-click prompts like “Summarize” or “Reword”.
- activeTab: Allows QuickGPT to inject the assistant into the currently viewed page when triggered.
- scripting: Enables dynamic content injection and interaction on the active page.
- storage: Used to persist extension settings across sessions.
- Host permission (
<all_urls>
): Required for the extension to work contextually on any website (e.g., GitHub, StackOverflow, Wikipedia).
4. Remote Code Disclaimer
QuickGPT does not load or execute any remote code. The only external requests made are securely sent to OpenAI's servers for API responses. All scripts are bundled with the extension and subject to Chrome’s content security policy (CSP).
5. No Tracking
This extension does not use analytics, trackers, or log any data about user behavior.
